Argentina Hospital Discharges by Diagnosis 2011
General Info
This report is part of Series 11, which replaced Series 4 after 2003. Its introduction coincides with the 2005 reformulation of the Health Service Statistics Subsystem that generates the inpatient morbidity statistics within the HMIS.
The report gives discharge data for public sector and inpatient care facilities in 2011. National university facilities and the private and social insurance fund sectors are not included. Diagnoses are coded in ICD-10 and grouped into 80 categories. Data are broken down by province, sex, and 5-year-age group and represent a single, principal diagnosis for each hospitalization. According to the statistical system healthy newborns are not considered discharges and are thus not included.
The report also provides details on coverage gaps for provinces including Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Entre Rios and Santiago del Estero.
