Summary
This report presents malignant cancer incidence and patterns for four urban agglomeration areas in Maharashtra state for 2001: Mumbai, Poona, Nagpur, and Aurangabad. Tables include cases, age-specific and age-adjusted rates for incidence by ICD-10 site, sex, and 5-year age group; site, sex and diagnosis; and site, sex and religion for each area. Data are also given for childhood cancers (ages 0-14) and tobacco-related cancers. Data sources for the registries include public and private health facilities in the registry areas, and vital statistics from departments of public health in the municipalities.
