Bangladesh - Dinajpur Supporting Household Activities for Health, Assets, and Revenue Survey, Round 1 2002
General Info
The first round of the Dinajpur Supporting Household Activities for Health, Assets, and Revenue (SHAHAR) Survey was the baseline survey for a three-round panel study of slum communities in Dinajpur. The SHAHAR project was designed to increase the income and improve the living conditions and environment of poor urban communities in several cities in Bangladesh; this panel survey was designed as an evaluation of those interventions in Dinajpur. The baseline survey interviewed 614 households in July and August 2002, collecting information on the household's demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, household expenditures, nutrition and diet habits, health, and anthropometric measurements of women and children under 5. A community questionnaire was also used to collect information on the characteristics and living conditions of the urban communities.
The second and third rounds of the Dinajpur SHAHAR Survey took place in March and August-September 2003, respectively.
