United States Infant Mortality Statistics from the 2004 Period Linked Birth and Infant Death Data Set
General Info
This issue of the CDC's National Vital Statistics Reports presents data from the 2004 linked birth and infant deaths data set produced by the National Vital Statistics System. The report provides the data through graphs, tables, and text that cover infant mortality as it relates to birthweight, maternal characteristics such as race, age, and marital status, deaths attributable to the five leading causes of deaths, and other topics.
Although the bulk of the report is on the 2004 data, some graphs and tables present data back to 1995 or 1999 for comparison.
