Summary 

The TRANSFAIR Study was conducted in 14 European countries in 1995-1997, and links data on trans-fatty acid content of sample foods to food consumption data in participating countries. The study organizers used food consumption data from recent diet surveys to select a market basket of food samples that were representative of the total fat intake in each country. These samples were analyzed for their TFA content and linked back to the food consumption data.
