Chile National Food Consumption Survey 2010-2011

The Chile National Food Consumption Survey 2010-2011 collected information on household characteristics and lifestyles, food consumption, and body measurements. For the sample, ten strata were defined to represent the urban and rural populations in the country's five macroregions. A final sample of 4,920 respondents participated. Respondents were administered a socioeconomic questionnaire and a lifestyle and food habit questionnaire. Food consumption was measured through a food consumption 24 hours recall questionnaire and a quantitative survey. Anthropometric examinations were conducted to determine BMI for the respondents. The intention of the survey was tracking the changes in nutrition habits of the population as a result of the socioeconomic development the country has undergone.
