The Catalan Nutrition Survey 2002-2003 (ENCAT 2002-2003) follows a similar regional nutrition survey conducted in 1992-1993. The representative sample included 2,160 individuals between the ages of 10 and 80 living in Catalan municipalities. The survey included two 24-hour recalls and a food frequency questionnaire; while all participants completed the first recall, 62% of the sample completed the second recall 8-30 days later. In addition to the dietary assessment, a survey questionnaire collected information on the participants' chronic disease control, tobacco use, and physical activity. Anthropometric measurements were also collected.
