Summary 

The 1996-1997 Brazil LSMS was conducted in the Northeast and Southeast regions of the country. As the purpose of the survey was to quickly provide data to indicate trends and significant changes, only just over 4900 households from 10 areas were surveyed. Topics included employment, agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises, fishing, investments, business and household expenses, income, family planning, and fertility.
