Summary

The 2003 NGO Service Delivery Program (NSDP) Evaluation Survey was the third implementation of this survey. Previous surveys were carried out in 1998 and 2001. The purpose of this survey was to assess the impact of the NSDP, an initiative that focused on particular areas and services related to antenatal care, vaccines, health of mothers and children, contraceptives, and health literacy. The 2003 data collection also focused on discovering changes that occurred since 2001.

The data were collected through interviews in NSDP areas and those without NSDP. The questionnaires included one on the household, and one on women ages 10-49 years, and several for health facilities. The survey collected interviews from 12,547 households and 11,879 women in rural areas throughout the country.
