Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions 2010
General Info
The 2010 Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions (JSLC) collected data to provide information for policy development for the Jamaican government. A total of 5,534 individuals from 1,682 non-institutional dwellings participated. The sample was a randomized subset of approximately one-third of the previous Labour Force survey (LFS) in an effort to provide data linkage between survey series. The survey instrument for the JSLC is a household questionnaire, the core of which is basically the same each year. This ensures continuity and comparability. The questionnaire covered topics such as demographics, education, housing, social welfare, health, and expenditures. The 2010 effort included additional modules on coping strategies and early childhood development.
