Georgia National Nutrition Survey 2009
General Info
The purpose of this survey was to gather nutritional data, anthropometric measurements, and samples from specific groups. This survey focused on children less than 5 years old, nonpregnant women ages 15 to 49 years, and pregnant women at antenatal clinics. The total sample of households was 4,043, with 2,246 of those submitting bread and salt samples. The survey sample also included 3,069 children, 1,846 nonpregnant women, and 613 pregnant women.
Data were collected through in-person interviews in the home and at antenatal health clinics. The questionnaires included a children's module that involved mothers reporting on their children, a women's questionnaire for those at antenatal clinics, a women's questionnaire in the home, and a household questionnaire. Women and children had their blood drawn and mid-upper arm circumference was measured. Women also provided a urine sample.
