The Taiwan Tuberculosis Control Report 2012 presents statistics on case notifications, incidence, prevalence, treatments and outcomes for new tuberculosis cases, mortality rates, sites of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, and the estimated severity of tuberculosis for Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matzu. The statistical analysis for Taiwan was based on data collected via the "Central Communicable and Follow-Up and Management System". Tuberculosis cases in the report refer to confirmed cases only to allow a standardized basis for cross-national comparison. Case definitions and surveillance indicators are based on WHO standards. The report includes country profiles.
