Summary 

The 2011 Census of Population and Housing in Ireland was conducted by the Central Statistics Office, via the collection of self-administer questionnaires from 1.65 million households by census enumerators, covering various demographic and socioeconomic topics. Also included in the questionnaire were questions on health status, and chronic illness. The total population of Ireland in April 2011 was recorded at 4,588,252.
