Summary 

The New Mexico Female Intimate Partner Violence Death Review Team report includes 46 female homicides determined to involve a former or current intimate partner during the period 1993 through 1996. Tabulations include data on the characteristics of the women and men involved (age, race, previous injuries), their living arrangement and relationship, weapons used and injuries suffered, location, who reported the death, presence of children, and circumstances preceding the incident, prior police records, shelter use, and orders of protection, blood alcohol levels, and the perpetrator charges, sentence, and judgment. The data collection form used to abstract information from the medical examiner files for each case is included in the appendix.
