Summary
The Vietnam AIDS Indicator Survey (AIS) 2005 is part of phase 5 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series, a nationally representative household survey series. The survey is also known as the Vietnam Population and AIDS Indicator Survey (VPAIS) 2005. Topics commonly covered in the AIS series include: family planning, health behavior and knowledge, health care access, health care use, health status, and use of antimalarial drugs. For the 2005 Vietnam AIS, 7,289 women and 6,707 men age 15-49 were successfully interviewed from 6,337 households. Blood samples were collected for all men and women age 15-49 living in the Hai Phong province who consented to testing.
