Summary
The Turkish Adult Risk Factor Study (also called TARF) began as a longitudinal survey of cardiovascular health in 1990, expanding in scope through successive waves. The 2010 wave includes 1406 participants aged 45-74, with 686 receiving an examination and 577 for which information on health status was obtained. Participants were located across all regions in Turkey.
Objectives: We analyzed the distribution of cumulative allcause and cardiovascular mortality and incident coronary heart disease (CHD) across the seven geographic regions of Turkey and presented overall and coronary mortality findings of the 2010 survey of the Turkish Adult Risk Factor Study.
