United States National Home and Hospice Care Survey 2007
General Info
The National Home and Hospice Care Survey (NHHCS) is part of a series of surveys of home and hospice care facilities in the US. Information was collected about agencies that provide home and hospice care including information about current and discharged patients. It is a probablity survey sample and includes all home health agencies and hospices licensed or certified by Medicare or Medicaid. Because the NHHCS is a sample survey, the application of weights to the sample data is needed in order to produce national estimates of agencies, current patients, and discharges. Beginning in 2007 additional information included questions regarding medical education of professional staff, salaries, retention and benefits programs and the implementation and use of electronic medical records systems, telemedicine and internet offsite training.
