WHO South East Asia Regional Neonatal-Perinatal Database Report 2007-2008
General Info
Coordinated by the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia and the WHO Collaborating Center at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the WHO South East Asia Regional Neonatal-Perinatal Database (SEAR-NPD) collects and compiles data on neonatal and perinatal health from network centers in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. The initial data collection effort – which resulted in recommendations to make the database on ongoing project – occurred in 2007-2008.
Intended to help generate estimates on neonatal and perinatal morbidity in the region, participating centers use standardized instruments to gather detailed information on live births, still births, pre-term births, causes of death, birth weight, a range of neonatal morbidities, and related items.
