Israel National Acute Stroke Israeli Registry Tables 2004-2010
General Info
These estimates of annual stroke incidence are based on a triennial prospective survey that occurred over a period of two months each in 2004, 2007, and 2010. The study population includes patients 18 years and older hospitalized with acute stroke in all 28 hospitals in Israel. Annual estimates are based on the assumption that rates over the two month periods of the study would apply across the full year. Number of incident cases are given for ischemic stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage, broken down by sex and 5-year age groups. The file also includes a population denominator from Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics for each age-sex combination. NASIS is an acronym for either National Acute Stroke Israeli Registry or National Acute Stroke Israeli Survey - the study is referred to by both names.
