Summary
The Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a multi-country longitudinal study of aging in Europe. Wave 4 took place primarily in 2011, with some data collection in 2010 and 2012.
Wave 4 was the third regular panel wave of the survey, following the SHARELIFE survey in Wave 3. It included a main questionnaire that included 20 modules on health status and behaviors, biomarkers including body mass index, mental health, economic status, and social support. In Germany, the study also collected blood samples, and took waist circumference and blood pressure measurements.
