Summary

This report contains hospital discharge data for inpatients and day cases. Private funding refers to the funding source of the patient, not the hospital. Data are from the New Zealand National Minimum Dataset collection. For each ICD-10 chapter, subgroup, and 3-digit code, the report contains the average length of stay, and number of discharges by sex and 5-year age group. Similarly detailed data are given for procedures. Not all private hospitals report discharge data to the Ministry of Health, therefore the private hospital data included in the report is not complete.
