Sudan Safe Motherhood Survey 1999

General Info

Geography
Sudan [Historical] (SDN) (South Sudan, Sudan)
Coverage type
Country
Time period covered
January, 1999 - December, 1999
Data type
Survey: Household - Urban-rural representative
Summary

A survey of ever-married women aged 15 to 49, the Safe Motherhood Survey covered topics such as family planning, antenatal care, births, female circumcision, age at first marriage, household assets, and education. This survey was not representative of the South since data collected from the region was limited to a few select urban areas. The survey information on reproductive morbidity is based on self-reports.

Unfortunately, survey data and documentation do not seem to be available online any longer; the Central Bureau of Statistics may have posted on their Web site at one time.  Some libraries may be able to procure a printed copy of the report through interlibrary loan.
