Summary 

The Chile National Health Survey 2003 evaluated the health status of Chileans over 17 years old. Its objectives included (1) measuring the prevalence of 21 diseases and conditions, and (2) creating a serum bank for future studies. The study interviewed approximately 3,600 people, a subsample of participants from the Quality of Life Survey. In addition to two interviews, blood tests, urine tests, vision exams, hearing tests, dental examinations, anthropometric and blood pressure measurements were administered by nurses.
