Philippines Population and Housing Census 1990
General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1990 Philippines de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on subjects of housing, household demographics, education, migration, disability, employment for those 10 and older, and fertility for women age 15-49. A Common Household Questionnaire (CHP 2) was used to enumerate the majority of the population and a longer Sample Household Questionnaire (CPH 3) was used to enumerate a sample of the population. A separate form (CPH 4) was administered to institutional populations. The census day was May 1, 1990 and fieldwork continued for 20 days.
