Afghanistan National Risk and Vulnerability Assessment 2007-2008
General Info
The 2007-2008 National Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (NRVA) studied the needs and vulnerabilities of urban, rural and nomadic populations (Kuchi) in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. The survey used population-based sampling and it utilized the random start method. Unlike the assessments carried out in 2003 and 2005, the 2007-2008 NRVA was conducted year-round (12 months). Questionnaires were administered at the shura and household level (except for market data collected at the district level). The survey collected data from 20,576 households. Topics included household consumption of food and other items, agricultural activities, maternal and child health, disability, migration, and coping strategies to shocks, such as natural disasters.
