General Info
Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 1999 Belarus de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on household demographics, housing conditions, education and employment for individuals 15 and older, migration, and the number of live births per each woman 15 years and older. The census day was February 16, 1999 and data was collected from February 16-23. A 10% sample of households from the census (990,706 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
