Summary: 

The Argentina 2019-2020 MICS was conducted as part of Round 6 of the survey series. Topics covered include child health and mortality, nutrition, sanitation, reproductive health, education, child protection, and HIV/AIDS.

A total of 14,968 households responded to the survey. Four questionnaires were used, including: one for households, one for women between the ages of 15 and 49 years, one for children ages 5 to 17, and one for children under the age of 5 years, completed by mothers or caregivers. This survey was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and field work was halted before all households were reached.

The Global School-Based Health Survey was designed to provide accurate data on health behaviors and protective factors among students, including dietary behaviors, hygiene, physical activity, drug and alcohol use, and sexual behaviors. It is often used to help countries develop priorities, establish programs and advocate for resources for school health programs, policies and youth health.

In Argentina, 1,980 questionnaires were distributed to 47 schools. The school response rate was 94%, the student response rate was 82%, and the total response rate was 77%.
