The Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 (GBD 2021), coordinated by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), estimated the burden of diseases, injuries, and risk factors for 204 countries and territories and selected subnational locations.

Covariates, which are independent variables with a positive or negative relationship to GBD diseases and conditions, are used to inform the estimation process in models in all components and stages of the GBD study. Types of covariates used include socioeconomic, demographic, health system access, climate, and food consumption. This dataset contains data for covariates for 1980-2021 used in the GBD 2021 study.

The Cambodia Demographic and Health Survey 202-2022 is part of phase 8 of the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) series. The survey collected information on fertility, contraceptive methods, breastfeeding, nutritional status of women and children, maternal and child health, adult and childhood mortality, women's empowerment, domestic violence, awareness and behavior regarding HIV and AIDS and other STIs, and other health issues such as smoking. It was intended to allow estimates of key indicators at national, urban and rural, and province levels and was comprised of household, woman's, man's, and biomarker questionnaires, as well as a self-administered fieldworker questionnaire. 20,806 households were interviewed and a subsample of 19,845 women age 15-49 and 9,079 men age 15-49 completed individual interviews.

The 2019-2020 MICS6 Pakistan - Balochistan survey was designed to provide information for policy initiatives to support children and women's well-being. Its objectives included providing high quality data for assessing the situtation of children, adolescents, women, and households, collect disaggregated data for identification of disparities, to generate data on national and global SDG indicators, and generate behavioral and attitudinal data not available from other data sources.

Six questionnaires were used in the survey: a household questionnaire, a water quality testing questionnaire, separate questionnaires for individual women and individual men 15-49 years, an under-5 questionnaire, and a 5-17 questionnaire. Data was collected using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). The total sample size was 21,380 households in 1,092 sample clusters. 23 clusters were not visited due to inaccessibility because of COVID-19.

The 2021-2022 Uzbekistan Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey was completed in two rounds. The first round in March - June 2021 was interrupted by several factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequently a new representative sample was selected in September 2021 with data collection conducted between November 2021 - January 2022. The first round interviewed 10,879 households. In the second round, 4,180 households were interviewed from a sample of 4,507 selected from the same clusters as the first round. 

The survey consisted of four questionnaires: a household questionnaire to collect basic demographic information, a questionnaire for individual women aged 15-49, an under-5 questionnaire, and a questionnaire for children aged 5-17. Questionnaires in the two rounds were similar though some modules were not included in round 2.

The 2020-2021 Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey in Azad Jammu and Kashmir interviewed 7,606 households. This survey fieldwork took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Six questionnaires were used in the survey: 1) a household questionnaire; 2) a water quality testing questionnaire administered in 3 households in each cluster of the sample; 3) all women age 15-49 years; 4) individual men administered in every second household to all men age 15-49 years; 5) an under-5 questionnaire administered to mothers (or caretakers) of all children under 5; and 6) a questionnaire for children age 5-17 years administered to the mother (or caretaker) of one randomly selected child age 5-17 years living in the household. In addition to the administration of questionnaires, fieldwork teams tested cooking salt for iodine content, observed the place for handwashing, measured the weights and heights of children age under 5 years, and tested household and source water for E. coli levels.
