The 2020 edition of the World malaria report takes a historical look at key milestones that helped shape the global response to the disease from 2000 to 2020. The report features a detailed analysis on progress towards the 2020 milestones of WHO’s global malaria strategy and a special section on malaria and the COVID-19 pandemic. As in past years, the report provides an up-to-date assessment of the burden of malaria at global, regional and country levels. It tracks investments in malaria programs and research as well as progress across all intervention areas. This report draws on data from 87 countries and territories with ongoing malaria transmission. 

The Sri Lanka Annual Health Bulletin 2016 was produced by the Medical Statistics Unit of the Department of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Nutrition, and Indigenous Medicine. The figures presented in the bulletin are based on data collected by the Medical Statistics Unit from several government entities, including the Department of Census and Statistics (population characteristics), the Epidemiology Unit (surveillance of communicable diseases), the Family Health Bureau (maternal and child health), and the Registrar General's Department (vital statistics).

The report covers the national healthcare system, including number and types of health care facilities, educational requirements for medical personnel, and government expenditures by program. Morbidity and mortality numbers are provided for noncommunicable diseases. The report also publishes service utilization figures such as provision of services to patients by district and type of facility.

The World Malaria Report 2016 summarizes data from national malaria control programs from 91 malaria-endemic countries and other sources such as household surveys. The report reviews progress towards the global malaria targets set for 2015 and describes trends in funding, transmission, and intervention. Graphs and tables display populations at risk, vector species, malaria financing, number of cases, and admissions and deaths for each parasite species.
