The Compressed Mortality File (CMF) is a county-level national mortality and population database, updated annually, that contains data from 1968 to the present. Data can be limited and indexed by several variables, including location (U.S., state, county), year, age group, race, Hispanic origin, gender, cause of death, injury intent and mechanism, and urbanization.
