The Botswana AIDS Impact Survey (BAIS) is a national population-based household sexual behavior survey first conducted in 2001. The BAIS examines and updates information on the sexual behavior patterns of the population ages 10-64 years. Information derived from BAIS also includes the HIV prevalence and incidence rates among those ages 18 months and older. Data collected are used for policymaking, national program planning, and future research.
