The purpose of the 2018 Hajjah Nutrition and Retrospective Mortality Survey was to investigate the levels of nutrition and malnutrition present in children ages 0-59 months and women ages 15-49 years. To collect this information, this survey adopted the UNICEF Standardized Monitoring and Assessment for Relief and Transition (SMART) methodology.

The data were collected through in-person household interviews and anthropometric measurements taken from children. Anthropometric measurements were collected from 1,292 children, and nutritional assessments were collected from 1,771 women.
