World Bank Education Expenditure Project (Edstats)

The World Bank Group Edstats site for the World Bank Education Expenditure Project provides data on country education spending, based on the WB Public Expenditure Reviews.  The site allows you to select the country, the topics, and the indicators. You can view the data online from 2000 on, and export data going back to 1970 when available.  You can also access the public expenditure reviews that are the source of the data.

Indicators that are available include:

• Total education expenditure in local currency
• Share of total education expenditure from international sources
• Public education expenditure per student (% of GDP per capita), primary, secondary and tertiary school
• Pupil/Teacher Ratio, primary and secondary
