Summary 

The 2017 United States National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) is a cross-sectional household interview survey that is fielded continuously throughout the year. The NHIS is a major source of information on the health of the population of the United States. The 2017 survey covered a wide variety of topics such as family composition, socio-demographic characteristics, injuries, health insurance, income and assets, health conditions, and health behaviors.

A total of 32,617 households and 33,157 families were interviewed.
