Summary

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2000 Thailand de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment for those 13 and older, education, migration, and fertility for women 13 and older. Housing questions were presented to a sample of 20% of the population. The census day was April 1, 2000, and fieldwork continued until the end of the month. A 1% differentially weighted sample of households from the census (604,519 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Dwellings and vacant units are not identified in the microdata. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
