Summary

The Thailand National Nutrition Survey 1986 assessed the food and nutritional status within the country. The targeted population was comprised of infants and preschool-age children (0-4 years), school-age children (5-14 years), women of reproductive age (15-44 years), pregnant women, and lactating women.

Data were collected with one-day food records with instructions for the sample population to complete, household interviews, and optional anthropometric assessments. The anthropometric assessments included height and weight measurements, blood collection and testing, and dietary survey at the household and individual level. Of the targeted population, 3,181 households were successfully interviewed.
