Summary

The Social Environment and Biomarkers of Aging Study (SEBAS) of Taiwan continues the work of the Taiwan Longitudinal Study of Aging (TLSA) that began in 1989. SEBAS gathers information on the physical, psychological, and social well-being of Taiwanese adults ages 54 and above. Data are collected with physical exams, blood tests, urine tests, anthropometric measurements, health assessment measures, and face-to-face interviews. The 2006 SEBAS added an eye exam and cognitive assessment. A total of 1,284 individuals completed the interviews and 1,036 participated in the physical examinations.
