Summary

Censuses provide population numbers, household or family size and composition, and information on sex and age distribution. They often include other demographic, economic and health-related topics as well. The 2002 Slovenia de jure census collected data through face-to-face interviews and self-enumeration on the subjects of housing, household demographics, employment, education, and fertility for women 15 and older. Five forms were used to gather data including questionnaires for buildings, dwellings, and individuals, a form on nationality, ethnicity, and religion, and a household persons list  The census day was March 31, 2002, and fieldwork occurred from April 1 to 15. A 10% sample of households drawn from 9.3% of all private households in the country (179,632 individuals) is available through IPUMS International at the University of Minnesota. Refer to the IPUMS website for guidelines on citing database versions.
