Summary 

The Singapore National Health Survey conducted in 1998 assessed the prevalence of diabetes, hypertensions, high blood cholestorol, obesity, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol use, and associated risk factors. A total of 4,723 individuals, 2,181 men and 2,542 women, ages 18-69 years were canvassed from approximately 11,200 households that were in the vicinity of six nearby community centers.
