Summary 

The purpose of this survey was to collect data on micronutrient deficiencies, anemia, and malaria. The data were collected in order to monitor current national nutritional programs and plan for future nutrition intervention endeavors. 

Data were collected with household, child, and women questionnaires. Interviews were conducted in 1,359 participating households. From these households, 945 non-pregnant women ages 15-49, 865 children under age 5, and 178 pregnant women were interviewed. Salt specimens were collected from the households to test for iodine quantity. Blood and urine samples were collected from the selected women and children.
