The 1986 Senegal Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) is part of Phase 1 of the DHS series, a comprehensive, nationally representative survey.

The survey covered population, education, health, nutrition, family planning, and household characteristics. A total of 5,000 women ages 15 to 49 and 1000 children aged 6-36 months were included in the sample.
