Summary 

This Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices Survey on Tobacco Use (CAPCTR-2003) collected information on tobacco use and knowledge from a representative sample of men and women aged 14 to 60 living in Bucharest and urban or rural areas of ten selected counties. A total of 1,209 interviews were successfully completed. Participants were asked about their current and past history of tobacco use, exposure to secondhand smoke, knowledge of the health effects of tobacco, knowledge of tobacco legislation, and the media's role in communicating tobacco policies and health literacy.
