Summary

The Qatar STEPS Noncommunicable Disease Risk Factors Survey 2012 uses a survey methodology developed by the World Health Organization (WHO). It was conducted by the Supreme Council of Health in collaboration with the Qatar Statistics Authority.

The survey includes three steps—questionnaire, physical measurements, and biochemical measurements. The questionnaire covers demographics, health status, and lifestyle risk factors such as tobacco use, diet, and physical activity. Measurements include height, weight, body mass index, waist circumference, and blood pressure. Biochemical measurements were obtained for fasting blood glucose and total cholesterol levels.
