Summary

The survey measured the changes in use and knowledge of insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) since the baseline survey in 2000 and a follow-up survey in 2004. The survey sample included women of reproductive age (15-49) who were pregnant or caring for a child under age five from 3,025 Nigerian households. The 2000, 2004 and 2008 surveys sampled households in urban and rural areas from five sites: Lagos, Oyo, Kano, Borno, and Enugu states. Two additional sites, Ogun and Osun, are included in the 2008 survey. In addition to bednets, the survey covered insecticide use, indoor residual spraying, and asks for information on knowledge of malaria.
