Summary

The National Nutrition and Child Survival Survey conducted in 2016 examined the nutrition status and situations in Niger. The Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions (SMART) methodology was used to collect data. All departments of Niger were canvassed except for Bosso, which was covered by its own survey.

Data collected included vitamin A supplementation, deworming practices, immunization status and coverage, mortality, anthropometric measurements, and infant and child feeding practices. The sample included 7,855 children 0-59 months and 7,080 children 6-59 months from 11,591 households.
