Summary

This survey is principally about the symptoms and complications of obesity and diabetes: blindness, kidney disease, circulatory problems in the limbs that can lead to amputation, heart disease, and increased risk of infection. Of particular significance are the inclusion of results from physical examination, including caliper measurements for obesity, measurement of swollen feet for determining circulatory problems, blood and urine tests for sugar imbalances, and eye examinations for symptoms of blindness. Questions are asked about medicines and treatments prescribed. Fertility and limited birth history information was collected for female respondents.
