Summary

The Aichi Cancer Registry was created in 1962 and reorganized in 1999. It is a population-based registration system that relies on voluntary reporting.

The 1996 Aichi Cancer Registry Report provides incidence and mortality rates for cancer in the Aichi prefecture of Japan. The rates are presented in tables broken down by sex, 5-year age groups, and type of cancer by ICD-10 codes. Crude, cumulative, and age-standardized rates are included. The registry lists the leading causes of death and total number of deaths in Aichi Prefecture from 1960 to 1998, and in Japan from 1997 to 1998.
