Summary 

The Italy Cardiovascular Epidemiological Observatory/ Health Examination Survey 2008-2012 was conducted as a national round of the European Health Examination Survey initiative, and is used as a cohort in the Cuore Project. 

The OEC/HES was designed to collect data on the cardiovascular health of Italian adults ages 35 through 79 years old. The survey investigated lifestyle habits, factors and their prevalence, gathered data on various demographic groups, and looked at the prevalence of chronic disease.
