Summary 

The National Adult Nutrition Survey, conducted 2008-2010, investigated the food and beverage consumption, nutrient intake, physical activity, and food choice in Ireland. The study also investigated the lifestyle and health indicators and attitudes relating to food and health. A total of 1,500 adults ages 18 and over participated. The sample included 740 men and 760 women.

Data were collected through a variety of channels. Self-administered questionnaires and food diaries were disseminated to participants. Participants were also asked to wear an actigraph to record energy expenditure. Additional data, such as anthropometric measurements and blood pressure, regarding physical activity were also collected.  Fasting blood and urine samples were also taken for assessment.
