IHME cause-specific mortality estimates for acute hepatitis C, liver cancer due to hepatitis C, and cirrhosis due to hepatitis C are combined and used as an input to a hepatitis C antibody (anti-HCV) seroprevalence model in DisMod. The DisMod model is ultimately used to estimate acute hepatitis C disease prevalence and incidence.
